The inlet valve controls the amount of water that enters the refrigerator, and if damaged, it will allow too much water or no water at all into the line. If your water inlet valve is damaged, it should be immediately replaced.

DESCRIPTION:

The water valve inside of a refrigerator regulates the flow of water to the ice maker and to a water dispenser on some models. Sensors in the refrigerator send signals to the valve solenoid when water is needed. The valve then opens or shuts in response to an electrical pulse from the ice maker or the water dispenser. If water does not flow to the ice maker or dispenser, try troubleshooting and/or replacing the valve.
